The members of association – under the framework of the Airline Coordination Platform – have been working together for the past years to advocate for level playing field with non-EU carriers and fair social standards. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the increasing pressure on EU airlines due to the proposals within the European Commission’s Fit for 55 package, the EU network carriers decided to step forward and have their voice heard publicly and offer partnership with the EU institutions to build together smart legislation that is focussing on connectivity and the benefits for consumers and at the same time it is creating new opportunities for EU industry.
